Tennis & Fitness

The Southeast Tennis and Learning Center offers tennis instruction and coaching for children and teens (ages 6 to 17) that are enrolled in the Center’s academic programs and maintain at least a C average in their schoolwork.  From beginners new to the game, to advanced players competing in juniors tournaments, everyone benefits from the Center’s expert coaching staff, physical conditioning, tennis drills and emphasis on sportsmanship.

The quality of the Center’s training and fitness program is evident in the number of nationally ranked players the program has turned out.  In recent years, young players from the Center have competed in the American Tennis Association National Tournament, bringing home numerous national trophies.  Equally important, their demeanor off the court demonstrates how much they have gained through the program in social skills and confidence.

The Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) also offers tennis instruction to individuals not enrolled in the Center’s academic programs — from Tiny Tots Tennis for 3 to 5 year olds to Adult Clinics.  For more information, visit DPR’s website.
